Invited Runners

M&T BANK Vermont City Marathon Invited Runner Program

The M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon Invited Runners Program is open to any athlete eligible to compete in the Olympic Trials for their country of residence. Invited Runner program athletes receive comp entry, and may be eligible for other travel-related perks based on their accomplishments in our sport.

Standards
To apply to the Invited Runner Program for the 2025 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon, runners must achieve the following results between January 2023 and April 2025.

Marathon (Open): Men 2:30:00, Women 2:55:00
Half Marathon (Open): Men 1:10:00, Women 1:23:00
Marathon (Masters): Men 2:37:00 Women 3:05:00
Half Marathon (Masters): Men 1:14:00, Women 1:27:00

For racers without current marathon or half marathon results that meet program standards, please feel free to submit outstanding results from other distances for consideration. We do not yet have standards developed for non-Binary runners. We will consider non-Binary runner inclusion in our Invited Runner program on a case by case basis as we work on developing standards.

Personal fluid bottles at aid stations
Pre-race technical meeting
Racer bios and photos posted on the race website
Access to the Invited Athlete staging area at the race start/finish (refreshments, facilities)
Hotel accommodations, mileage/travel reimbursement and meal stipends may be available for highly qualified applicants
